Autumn and winter 2026-27 are the ideal period for cycling on the Costa Blanca.
From mid-September onwards, daytime temperatures become milder and it is pleasant to spend time along the promenades of Calpe, Altea, Albir and Benidorm.

Our Costa is divided into two parts; the Mascarat tunnels form a barrier here, with the mountain ranges Bernia, Coll de Rates, Puig Campana, and Puerto Tudons.
On the north side lies Calpe, the ideal base for exploring Costa Blanca North area.
From Calpe, numerous beautiful cycling routes depart towards the coast and inland.
With routes via Moraira, Javea and Denia, or Coll de Rates, Puerto de Bernia and Vall d’Ebo.

On the southern side lies Altea, Albir and Benidorm. From this region, you can make use of quieter access roads and are ideally located to discover the famous climbs of the Costa Blanca South area around the Mascarat Tunnels.

Climbs such as Coll de Rates, Puerto de Tudons, Relleu, Puerto Calao, and many other well-known cols are within cycling distance.
Depending on the chosen route, you can easily ride up to 100 km from this region, while enjoying the peaceful Costa Blanca along the way.

December, January and February: Cycling among the pros

These are the months when many professional cycling teams plan their training camps on the Costa Blanca. December in particular is highly recommended.
The teams are already fully engaged in their preparation, but the atmosphere is relaxed and they also have time to enjoy a terrace.

If you plan your cycling holiday in January or February, you will see the training intensity increase further.
You will then see the pros working specifically on their fitness for the new season. For every cycling enthusiast, it is special to experience this up close.

It is estimated that 90% of professional cyclists stay on the Costa Blanca during this period.
You literally cycle on the same roads and climbs as the riders you normally only see on television.
