Clásico de los Gigantes – 4th edition 2026 – A Cycling Event That Keeps Growing

Some cycling events are born around a meeting table. The Clásico de los Gigantes started four years ago with a simple idea from Patrick Deneut: bringing cyclists together for a friendly and enjoyable day on the bike, without the pressure of racing, but with a shared passion for cycling.

What began as an ambitious project has grown into a popular annual event on the cycling calendar in Wervik. On Sunday, August 23rd, 2026, we are proud to welcome riders once again for the 4th edition of the Clásico de los Gigantes.

One of the great strengths of this event is that everyone is welcome. Whether you are an experienced cyclist or simply enjoy riding in a group, there is a distance that suits you. Participants can choose between 56 km, 82 km, or 102 km, riding in guided groups led by experienced cyclists and former professional riders. This allows everyone to enjoy a safe and enjoyable ride at a pace that suits them best.

The atmosphere on the road is just as important as the kilometres themselves. Friendship, sportsmanship, and a shared love of cycling are at the heart of the Clásico de los Gigantes. That is why we pay special attention to the refreshment stops along the route. I, Kathy, have been helping with the organization of the Nutrition station since the very first edition. Thanks to the continued support of Etixx Sports Nutrition, participants can enjoy high-quality sports nutrition and hydration throughout the ride.

This year's event is also made possible by the support of many sponsors. As DP Cycling, we are proud to be one of the sponsors of this fantastic event. We would like to sincerely thank all sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who help make the Clásico de los Gigantes possible year after year. Without their commitment, events like this simply could not take place.

Participants can choose between two registration options. Entry costs €10, or riders can choose the €60 package, which includes a unique cycling jersey specially designed for the 4th edition of the event.

After the ride, participants can enjoy lunch together and share their cycling stories. Please note that lunch must be booked in advance during registration.

New for 2026: Flanders Frontiers Ultra

Alongside the Clásico de los Gigantes, Flanders Frontiers Ultra will take place for the very first time in 2026. This event is organized by a separate organization and is aimed at cyclists looking for an ultra-endurance challenge.

Participants can choose between an impressive 180 km or 360 km route. The event starts on Saturday, August 22nd, and finishes on Sunday, August 23rd, 2026, at Steenakker in Wervik.
